The Errant Rocks Reserve is situated at a height of 852 meters above sea level, on the area of Table Mountains National Park.
Differences in resistance to weathering and erosion of sandstone layers having silica and marl binder, have given an unusual shape to the walls, ravines, tunnels and individual rocks appearing here. Nature has given them fantastic shapes like mushrooms, columns, hourglasses and towers. Thus creating the unique scenery of a ‘rock city.’ Some of the rocks have their own names such as, Table Boulder (Stolowy Glaz), Tunnel, the Kitchen (Kuchnia) or Crow’s Foot (Kurza Stopka).
Many of these rock formations resemble people, animals and objects, for example the Camel (Wielblad), Elephant (Slon), Squirrel (Wiewiorka) or Apeman (Malpolud). The latter is actually the symbol of these mountains. Two of the rocks are of particular interest. These are the so-called ‘wobbler’ (Chybotki) and ‘Princess Emily’s Cradle’ (Kolyska Ksiezniczki Emilki) which despite their significant mass, can be moved without too much effort.
At the observation deck atop the mountain, you can admire a panorama of the Sudety ranges which is considered as the most beautiful amongst Polish mountains.
